What permission is actually needed
A parking bay suspension where the property is on a controlled street. That is an application with a fee and a notice period, and it is made to the authority rather than arranged on the day.
On the High Street and around the Ashley Centre, loading is restricted by time of day and in places prohibited outright. A vehicle parked where it should not be is moved, mid-load.
Where a property is listed or in a conservation area, removing a door or bracketing an external lift to the façade may require consent. It is rarely needed and it is worth knowing before it becomes the plan.
